Shares of some top oil companies were mixed at the close of trading:
Chevron fell $.42 or .5 percent, to $76.28.
ConocoPhillips rose $.50 or 1.0 percent, to $51.25.
Exxon Mobil fell $.44 or .6 percent, to $71.30.
Marathon Oil rose $.36 or 1.1 percent, to $32.75.
