AT&T Inc rose $.17 or .7 percent, to $25.53.
Qwest fell $.02 or .6 percent, to $3.52.
Sprint Nextel fell $.03 or 1.0 percent, to $2.91.
Verizon rose $.03 or .1 percent, to $29.10.
